Miyahara Eye Hospital

 Miyahara Eye Hospital
宮原眼科

Miyahara Eye Hospital,
a two-story red brick building
constructed by a Japanese optometrist
Takekuma Miyahara (Gong Yuan),
was once the largest eye clinic in Taichung
during the time of the Japanese occupation.
The hospital became
Taichung Health Center in 1945
and was almost ruined after 921 earthquakes.
In 2010, a pastry business
named Dawn Cake bought the building
and renovated it into an eye-catching store
that looks like a library.
The Miyahara Eye Hospital is famous for
its pineapple cakes, cheese cakes, sun cakes,
ice-cream and chocolate.
